Natural Pregnancy-safe Headache Remedies
 
Hi ladies, as the title suggests I'm looking for natural pregnancy-safe headache remedies. I am very prone to headaches and would appreciate some advice or suggestions on different things I can do or take to relieve headaches, that are pregnancy safe. I read lavender is safe and can be helpful, plus the obvious things like drinking lots of water (though I'm struggling with that right now because of morning sickness) and getting enough rest. Thanks! :)

Google migrastick I think thats what its called. Also if it is a tension type headache see.if you can use some biofreeze on your neck and shoulders. Not sure if those are pg safe but they could help if so. Good luck!

a lot of women take magnesium supplements. You could research that a bit.

and I think peppermint oil breathed in from the hands is supposed to help.. I think it's peppermint.

I get really bad headaches when pg. the only thing that has really helped me is regular chiropractic adjustments

I tried a warm compress with lavender last night and it seemed to help, but the headache had already faded a little at that point. Once I'm out of the first tri I'm going to try massage therapy or chiropractic care, since i think its posture related. I'm tall and I've always struggled with headaches and back pain.

Rest, lots of water (try with some lemon or cucumber or other flavoring) and warm showers. I had a lot of headaches early on. I think its a common preggo side effect.

Sometimes the shower would do the trick (either just relaxing me or opening up my sinuses). Sometimes sinus congestion is causing pressure build up. I also used saline spray (buy the one in the metal can it has a really fine mist) to unclog my head.

Don't know how you feel about caffeine consumption, but if you've quit, it can give you headaches. If you don't have a problem with a little caffeine, try some coffee or tea.

Eventually, they went away.
