Yeast Infection Under Breasts
I had what I thought was excema, turns out it is yeast. I only figured it out after DS started to get a red bottom. I have nystatin crean and it is clearing up with daily use.
My question is should I call and get DS oral nystatin even though he shows no signs of oral yeast? I do not have any yeast that I can see on my nipples, it is all under. |
Re: Yeast Infection Under Breasts
I don't know, but I've had that before. Ugh! It's :yuck:
Personally, I probably wouldn't treat my child if he didn't have signs of it and I didn't have it on my nips. |
Re: Yeast Infection Under Breasts
I successfully treated this at home using coconut oil and rubbing it on the rash. I wouldn't treat your child unless they show signs of having it. it cleared up after a few days.

Re: Yeast Infection Under Breasts
Thanks - I did not want to treat him if he does not need it. He is not showing any signs and is nursing fine. I on the other hand am so itchy under my breasts, I could rip them off...LOL! It is clearing up, but it definately has to be treated, as I missed one course and it came right back with a vengance. I am not eating sugar or anything nor am I sweaty under there. Not sure why I got it.

If he has yeast, likely yoy both have it. You can clear it up with gentian violet. Purple breasts and a purple mouth means you've applied it well. :)
