What do YOU serve with pot roast?
I very rarely make pot roast, but I got a big chuck roast super cheap this week. It's been braising since 10 this morning, and I added a huge pile of veggies in a while ago. Now I'm trying to decide what to serve with it. Do you usually serve anything on the side with a pot roast besides the veggies?

Usually roasted veggies that include potatoes. Nothing else.

Re: What do YOU serve with pot roast?
It depends. Sometimes I throw potatoes in with the veggies and other times I make mashed potatoes. I often serve salad with it.

Potatoes, celery, onions, carrots, maybe parsnips or rutabaga if I have them around.
Fresh horseradish for topping. |
Re: What do YOU serve with pot roast?
I combine roast, lipton onion soup mix, onions, carrots, and potatoes. I don't serve it with anything, it's the whole meal, everything you need!
Sometimes, if I am feeling picky, I will make mashed potatoes, and then use that in place of the potatoes in the pot. |

Potatoes and veggies....then fruit on side....

Re: What do YOU serve with pot roast?
I serve rice or mashed potatoes with the roast and veggies.

Re: What do YOU serve with pot roast?
Potatoes and carrots usually get cooked with it...sometimes some bread or rolls to round things out...and something green like peas or a salad.

Re: What do YOU serve with pot roast?
I do potatoes and carrots usually and then I save the leftovers as a basis for vegetable beef soup. Yum!
