Daycare provider pay
First, we live in the northeast, PA to be exact. I will be going back to work after maternity leave in several weeks and have to find new childcare arrangements as the person that was watching dd can't take on an infant right now. Luckily I have a SAHM from who was looking at going back to work as her kids are in school now that has agrees to watch my children. It will be dd 19months and DS 10 weeks when she starts watching them. It will be 1-3 days a week 8-9 hours aday. What is a good rate to pay her?

Honestly I would call around for other home daycare rates and go from there.

When we lived in Pa I paid 26 a day for a 3 year old. We lived about an hour north of williamsport.

Re: Daycare provider pay
Definatly call around daycare rates very so much by region.
FWIW I pay $170 a week for a 3.5 year old and 4 month old. That is for 4 days. On early out weeks add $10 for DS1 to go for the afternoon. |
Re: Daycare provider pay
$25-30 per day for a single kid is pretty normal here (rural NY); you should have some sort of "discount" for the second child, but I don't have any experience with that.

Re: Daycare provider pay
As a licensed daycare provider I would charge $240 a week or $60 a day for 2 kids.

Here in N. IL I pay $30/day per kid for in home care.

Re: Daycare provider pay
When I did home day care, I charged $50 per day, per child. since I had my own two kids already, I only took on 1 full time 3 year old and 2 part time kiddos (2/3 days).
My mom is a nanny for one family, and they pay her $15 per hour, or $650 per week. |
Re: Daycare provider pay
30 a day, per child is the normal going rate for home daycare here. Many people will offer a little discount to moms with more than one child, but i would expect to pay her at least 50$ a day
