Recommend a crockpot
 

My 10+ year old crock pot is not cooking like it should anymore :sadno::cry:
I tried searching but got everything crock pot related. Feel free to link me to previous threads on crock pots.
Only real requirements I have is that I do need it to be 5-6 quarts.

So any suggestions, pros and/or cons are appreciated :goodvibes:

Watch for lead and cadmium...it can leach into your food from the glaze. I *believe* hamilton beach and proctor and gamble are lead free, crock-pot and rival have lead.

Thank you! I had no idea and I am sure my old rival had lead :yuck:

I need a new 6 quart and I don't want anything fancy. I think I've narrowed it down to Hamilton Beach, which is what I need to replace 12 years later.

Love my HB! Have had it almost 9 years now and it's still going strong. Mine is the programmable kind and I love that it flips to "warming" when it's done cooking. I work FT though, so programmable is a must.

Ok I got a HB a few years ago and while I like it the lid wobbles and steam escapes. It is noisy and gets water on the counter. So my only suggestion would be one with the side things that hold the lid on tight. I have been eyeing them at the store but won't buy one since mine works.

My HB 3 crock one just decided to start shutting off at random, so I'm in the market too. I'm kinda mad cause it's only a few years old, and I loved having different sized crocks.

Sorry Mommy brain on that one, proctor and silex is lead free

Funny, my lid has always done that too. I thought it was just the way crock pots are. Are there crock pots that don't wobble and spit?
