I have a "I should know this" question about baby bedding...
I am researching for my next child and I realized that I didn't know something and I hope someone is smarter then me here.
Are all children's sheets fire retardant? What about the "organic" ones? Are they treated just like children's sleepers? I make all of my son's pj's so he doesn't have the chemicals on him. He has adult sheets on his bed. I am just trying to protect my children from the chemicals. :) |
I don't think most are... There may be exceptions though

I have never purchased a sheet that says it's flame retardant. I think they are just cotton, especially the organic ones I would assume wouldn't be adulterated.

I believe that all baby sheets need to conform to standards, but that there are ways for them to conform without being introduced to chemicals. A call to PBK readily revealed that none of their sheets are treated with chemicals. Coyuchi, an organic bedding company, sadly told me they needed to call me back. I haven't received a call yet.
From what I can tell though, consumers don't need to be told that their stuff has been treated. |

Hmm that is what I feared. I think I will contact the company I want sheets from and see if they will tell me.
