Pantaloons or Bloomers pattern
Does anyone know of a good pattern for Pantaloons, knickers or bloomers? I want to make them for my 4 year old to go under some woven dresses that she has for the spring/summer... but I don't know when there will be a 99cent sale on patterns at JoAnn or Hancock, so if there is a tutorial or pattern online (or a WAHM who wants to sew a pair for me to buy!) please let me know if you know of one!

Re: Pantaloons or Bloomers pattern
Not Bloomers but really cute pants tutorial I found this in my search... LOL! (You could use the basic concept of measuring to make shorts/capris to fit to be turned into bloomers.)
http://minivanlife.wordpress.com/200...-measurements/ Bloomers (Upcycled from a pillowcase but you could just use fabric) http://homegrownrose.typepad.com/rec...rs-tutori.html I searched and couldn't find a good free pattern. (lots of infant ones!) If you have a capri or short pattern you can use that. Just make the leg not tapered and add an elastic casing (or zig zagged in if you want a ruffle at the bottom). |
Re: Pantaloons or Bloomers pattern
Thanks so much! That pillowcase tutorial is great! I dug through things today and found a pattern for pantaloons, it is a 3T pattern, but DD is so slim, I think I can just increase the rise slightly and it should be fine, I will need to add elastic to the leg, but it should work out just fine, so I went to the store today and bought 1 yard of white Kona Cotton because it was on sale and cheaper than the muslin, and less see through, which is nice!!
