Boys hair

So my son is 14 months old and I have no idea what to do with his hair! I'm absolutely not cutting it. It's just starting to hang in his eyes. Do you use clips or headbands or anything if your boys have long hair. Anyone have pics of their boys with long hair? I keep getting so much grief about not cutting his hair! I just can't touch those beautiful curls!!

Re: Boys hair

You need some "boyrettes" to keep it out of his eyes.

I use barrettes on my two year old boy.

I don't mind using something at home. Not sure DH would be happy about it of we went out. I can see it bugs him in his eyes but he hasn't figured out how to push it away yet. I'm sure he will eventually.

Re: Boys hair

its just that phase, eventually he will learn to put it behind his ears or the weight of the hair will naturally stay off his face. I love long hair on boys. My oldest won't let me grow his out anymore, thankfully my toddler doesn't have any say so yet

Clip it back. That's what we and the DC did with my little cousin. Eventually it was long enough to stay out of his eyes on its own.

Re: Boys hair

With my oldest I took his hair waaaay too short for his first haircut. Clippers on the back, scissor hte top short. With my second, I didn't want to do quite as short, so instead we just did a trim, and he is so handsome, and won't have to worry about anyone mistaking him for a girl. :)

Re: Boys hair

Clips mostly or sometimes I tied it up in a top knot. A little pomade works well too, helps train it over to the side so it will behave but with a really active little boy tieing it up works better. Tharen loved his clippies and wore them all of the time. When he was about 2.5 he asked to cut his hair and did wear it short for a while, first in a mohawk, then a short cut like dh, then an Oi like mine. Now he has super duper long hair and I finally learned to manage his curls properly. He has the most beautiful curls now that I know how to treat them.

His hair stays pretty well on its own now though if he will be participating in a sport I tend to put a bandana on him (for derby and TKD). He loves hats as you can see in his picture here. My oldest also has long hair but his has always parted nicely because it is a bit straighter and heavier. He has a long mohawk right now though.
