first time CDing on first baby

hey, i'm about to have my first baby in early August and I cannot wait to cloth diaper. I have 4 adopted boys so I'm not a new mom but this will be my first baby. I am so ready to start stocking up on some cloth diapers as to not have to spend so much at once. I've heard that it is best to buy a few different kinds at the beginning to see what fits your baby the best. Is that what everyone recommends? What do you suggest I start out with? I need whatever is easy but is going to work well. I don't plan to start right away but a few weeks after baby is born. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

I started out with prefolds, fitteds and covers a newborn AIO, and a pocket until my baby fit his OS. I started out with several different brands and now starting to buy more of my favorites.

Welcome to diaperswappers! Many moms start with prefolds and covers.All-in-ones are very easy to use but can be a bit pricey. You can buy a few different ones to try-many stores have trial kits. This will help u decide what best suits your baby and budget!
All the best mama!

I think it's easiest for DH's if you stick to one or two types. AIO's are definitely my favorite

I'm new to cloth diapering as well, but I'm excited about it. Ive been doing AIO and those work great so far.

I'm right there with you-I'm due in Aug with baby #1 and have been overwhelmed by all the cloth diaper choices! Based on what a friend who's obsesed with CDing told me so far, I'm going to try prefolds and covers.
