I like the lids on the new version since they don't leak when you are out with a bottle in your diaper bag but the numbers do scratch off in 2 washes & those are important. I'd email them and let them know you are having a problem. I did & they sent me some generous coupons. If they hear from enough people, maybe they'll make some changes!

P.S. I've found the older version on Ebay & Craigslist.
