i put my tree in jail. i put a super yard gate around my tree. we only have a few breakable ornamits (5 mabe?) & we keep them @ the very top. all of the other ones r the cheap plastic ones from the $1. store or plastic ones i had for yrs & dont care if they get broken. we also have some tiny stocking we hang on the tree (each child has there own) i also dont let the kids touch the tree after they help decorate it. once the gate is colsed the tree is off limits. i also hang up r stockings on the super yard gate. it makes it look nice & festive.
