We're not big on Thanksgiving either as our families aren't close by, FIL usually goes out with his friends and we pretty much eat turkey all year long so it's not worth cooking all day just to stuff our face for 15 minutes We've done number of summer BBQ and random dishes for fun.
I want to add a holiday or two as my daughters get older. New Year's is huge in Japan and kids get money so I may have to add that for 2014
