Need exercise ideas

I've started jogging with my husband now because just dieting has not gotten me the weight loss I wanted, and now that i'm jogging I find i'm alot more motivated to loose wieght and be healthy than I used to be. I do not want to go to a gym and don't have any exercise equipment so I need ideas for workouts I can do at home. I already plan on incorporating sit-ups & push-ups into my daily routine, but what else should I do?

30 day shred, could not recommend it more. You just need a little space to move around, and it only takes 20 minutes so it's easy to build into daily life. I use a couple of tins of beans or soup as my weights. I've done a few of these type things, but this one is quick, and really gives visible results quickly. Listening to the same thing everyday can be a bit boring so i tend to mute it and get some music on.

This. I love the 30 day shred. I also mute it and put some music on. I use five lb dumbbells with it. I hope to one day move to something more intense, but for now this is perfect for me. It's challenging, but I can actually complete it, and fit it in my day.

If you don't want to buy any equipment I would alternate doing Insanity with interval training using your own body weight. Google cardio options. There are a million you can do. So do like 2 minutes of cardio, then maybe jump squats or lunges, 2 minutes of a different cardio, then pushups, etc. you could probably find a good interval workout on google.

Bodyrock.tv has great 12 minute workouts that are body weight only or have modifications to be body weight only. And anyone can find 12 minutes to work out.

Re: Need exercise ideas

I ended up getting an elliptical for free yesterday from one of my neighbors! Now in addition to jogging (at least 3 times a week depending on weather and other factors) i'm going to work out on it daily. I'm starting with 20 minutes and i'm going to build up to 40minutes. I looked up the suggestions above and decided Insanity isn't for me but regular interval training sounds ok. The exercise website Bodyrock.tv is something i'm going to try out and while searching for the 30 day shred I found this website which has that program on it, http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFit/videos?view=0, so i'm going to be using it it too. On a daily basis i'm going to do the elliptical and at least 20 minutes of video workouts (from the websites). Hopefully I can jog 3 times a week but if not i'll be adding in more of the elliptical and video workouts to make up for it. Should I try to find more interval training or should the video workouts from the 2 sites be enough?

I would stick with the video sites you already have until they get boring and then look for something else or try insanity
