What to get a 3 year old?

What are you getting your 3 year old? Or what does your 3 year old like? Anyone know of good sales tomorrow (online?)

DS doesn't need anything really. He's getting a mini Kinderpack, but so far that's all.

Oh, I'm not a fan of lots of little pieces as they will just end up all over the house. TIA.

Were making a play kitchen for our 3 and 1 year olds. Has peices (felt food and play dishes and pots) but they're so enamored when I cook I figure it'll be good.

This has been a great book for us this year. My 2 yr old and 4 yr old DDs loved it.
It's a dry-erase drawing book. I think they have different versions other than animals, but it also has letters & number writing practice. The "learn to draw" portion is very easy shapes so it is easy for kids to have success with drawing the animals.

What does your DS like?

My DS (who is 3) is big into electronics and reading so we got him a first generation ipad with reading apps. His relatives will probably get him books and who knows what else.

Color Wonder products are great for kids that like to color (and parents that don't want them coloring on everything but the paper )

DD is 3.5 and we got her the VTech digital camera because she loves to take our pictures with her play camera. This one also works with her Innotab. She is also getting the Melissa and Doug clock and the lacing game thing.

DD is getting a toddler drum kit. She is super excited about it. I have to say the digital camera might be an idea too, my daughter got one for her birthday and has really started enjoying it.

What my daughter loves to do above all else is dig into rainbow rice. I'm guessing you can't buy it, but it's pretty easy to make.



A close second at 3 were the M&D magnetic dress up dollies. She still jumps at the chance to play with them.

Oops, I guess rice is the ultimate in little pieces. I monitor rice play carefully.

We got these for dd last year when she was almost three. Both kids love them (now 3 and 5). They are nice and thick so they will last a while, and stack nicely, although they can create a huge mess
