Moms of girls - re: wiping
I know to go front to back LOL but do baby girls need to be wiped at every diaper change? I have 2 boys and am thinking our newbie might be a girl, in which case do I need to make more cloth wipes? I didn't wipe my boys at every change, only when they needed it, but I have no clue how to care for a girl (other than myself) LOL.

I don't always wipe at every pee change. She just won't stay still that long all the time.

Re: Moms of girls - re: wiping
I don't. Only if she's really wet. Otherwise just when there's poo.

I have 6 girls. I wipe at every change. Who wants pee allover themselves? I sure dont, dry or not we wipe. (Always wiped my son down as well). I just use one wipe that is wet.

Re: Moms of girls - re: wiping
Just wipe for dirty diapers, just like boys. But girls are much harder to wipe off IME. They have all these folds and crevices that "stuff" gets mooshed into....

Yes. Urine is on the diaper thats touching skin so I wipe it off from both boys and girls. I wouldnt want pee on my sensitive privates.

Re: Moms of girls - re: wiping
I agree with the above. Both boys & girls should always be cleaned with a wet wipe after every change. Their skin has basically been being mosturized with heated urine - urine breaks skin down.

Re: Moms of girls - re: wiping
I always took a dry wipe and just dabbed my girls very quickly, while holding their legs with one hand. I got super fast with my last girl because she's feisty and doesn't like to stay still for long!
