I found one pound of ground venison. Doesn't look freezer burned or smell funny. Use it or chuck it?
No date on it...probably a year or two old

Its probably fine. If it smells off when you thaw it you need to toss it, but its most likely fine.

That's too bad - packaging makes a huge difference. We invested in a professional vacuum sealer b/c it can mean extra years of shelf life.

A year or two is fine. We just used up some of our last elk meat from 2010 and it was good, as long as it's packed right. But obviously, I'd try and date it next time.
