kate started walking at 11 months and didnt change her naps. Kara started walking at 8.5 months and didnt change her naps either.

thats funny i never thought about it, but SO true for my LO's. ds 2 is now almost 10 months, and taking a few steps, and just starting to drop that am nap!

My older two dropped morning naps several months before they walked. My youngest, I honestly don't remember. Dropping the nap and walking was definitely closer for her, but I don't really remember when she dropped that morning nap.

Em's just now starting to walk at 16 months and she's been at 1 nap for 4-5 months, this past week she's needed 2 naps a day. Walking for her must wear her out.

DD walked at 12 months and at 20 months she still takes 2 naps although lately it seems to be about 50/50 where she will take 2 naps some days and 1 nap some days.

this thread actually makes me want to cry.
DD is turning one this Sunday (yay!)... the last two days she's refused BOTH her naps and been a pain the toosh to get to sleep.
if this is all because she's "getting ready" to walk, i take all my prayers back for her to walk soon.. lol.
but seriously

Both my kids dropped their nap right after a year. They were walking around then but it didn't occur at the same time and I don't think it was realted. I think it was just an age thing.

now looking back, this was true for both of my LO's!! weird!!

DS walked at 13m, DD at 10m. weird!

For my boys it rings true, but for my girl not at all! She's taken only 1 nap since ~3mos (about 3-4 hours long) by her own virtue. She's been walking for about 7 mos now & her nap schedule hasn't changed. She still sleeps that long at 21 mos. It's the weirdest thing!

interesting....I just remember that they stopped napping at age 3.
