do you let your young kids go to neighbors' houses without you?

We don't have neighbors at this point for this to be an issue, but when we did I let all my kids go over there which was right next door. Even my then 3yr old. I talked with the mom a lot though and our kids were always going back and forth between our houses during the summer last yr. They've since moved... bummer!
