cleaning out my cupboards :)

Alrighty, I decided to go through my cupboards and use out anything that had been there for a while. Here's what's on the "use soon" list:

canned baked beans,
canned green/wax beans,
canned mushrooms
canned coconut milk,
dried split peas

Do you have recipes that involve any of those that are family favorites? I guess the beans I can just use as a veggie, lol. But for the rest of the list?? I need some yummy new recipes!!

canned baked beans - As is, or toss with cut up hotdog. I'm not sure, I dont really like baked beans but DH and DD LOVE them just warmed up out of the can.

canned green/wax beans - I'm not sure about this one, maybe a green bean casserole?

canned mushrooms - Saute up and toss with spaghetti sauce

canned coconut milk - A nice Thai curry with chicken, red/green peppers, onions, serve over rice. I think what I am thinking of is Panang Curry (it has a coconut/peanut sauce)

dried split peas - Pea soup!

subbing because I have a bunch of canned green beans that I don't know what to do with (DH bought them and I've NEVER used caned green beans before ) as for the canned mushrooms we just add those into ground beef and veggies or meat we are using for pasta sauce etc.

coconut milk you can make cake, curries, we just made a suki yuki sauce and some Khao Tom with coconut milk this week. you can use it for marinades, I have a muffin recipe on my blog with it, Ice cream, coconut rice is EASY peasy also on my blog, in oat meal. just search coconut milk on the blog

split peas make a soup or lentil something
wax beans would be good in a three bean salad
mushrooms, i agree spaghetti sauce OR quiche OR stroganoff
