Can seventh generation fabric softener be used on my flannel cd's?
The ingredients are....
Natural fabric softener base derived from soy
Natural fragrance (lavender oil)
Water

Re: fabric softener

You know, I'm not sure but I would stay away from anything that says fabric softner. If your just looking for a way to soften your diapers or eliminate static cling, just get some dryer balls. I love mine. Also, we use Sport wash detergent and since it's residue free, it leaves nothing to make the diapers stiff.

Re: fabric softener

I don't think so b/c of the lavendar oil...may cause build-up. I'm not positive, but that's why I can't use bi-o-kleen on my dipes (citrus oils)

HTH!

I have heard that Ecover softener is OK, I wonder how it compares to 7th generation? Downy Advanced was a veggie based softener, so I wonder if there is a difference. Supposedly Downey Advanced was OK.

I've been wondering this same thing. If anyone knows, then let me know, lol.

Re: fabric softener

I currently use lavender essential oil in my wash with no problems..and I'm already using sportswash. The only dipes that are stiff are my flannel dipes and wipes, everything else is fine.....
I added a few drops of the seventh generation softerner, and my dipes came out so nice....not downey filmy soft but just softer. kwim? I'll let you know if they start repelling, or get buildup on them....oh I also added it to the was and let it rinse twice.

Re: fabric softener

Stay away from any fabric softeners.
Fabric softeners coat the fabric, from what ive learned reguardless of the ingrediants they are going to leave a coating on the diapers and they wont absorb.
If your looking to soften up the diapers use some vinegar in the downy ball. Its natures fabric softener. It works like a dream
