Re: Anyone ever had a footling breech?
Well aprukeyp she doesn't say anything about it being a repeat c-section until further down the page after your comment to crunch!910 so I thought you should know.

Re: Anyone ever had a footling breech?
When I read the first post I had no idea it was a repeat c-section, it just sounded like she had one scheduled because the baby was breech. And at that point in the pregnancy there is still a good chance the baby could turn before birth, so I can see why people commented the way they did.

Re: Anyone ever had a footling breech?
Yes I realized that with my post & I myself am 1 not to pry or ask for details if you read my first, I only wrote to aprukeyp because she was not being that polite to other posters that in no means wear trying to be rude in there post.

Re: Anyone ever had a footling breech?
My DD was a footling breech, we didn't find out until my appt at 39w3d - had a c/s two days later.
Planning a VBAC for my birth this summer, so excited! ![]() Not sure if the docs have told you, but with breech babies there is risk of hip dysplasia. Upon her first examination after birth they heard a click in her left hip, so they did lots of followups and ultrasounds (sooooo hard on a newborn) until they deemed her hip fine about 2 months later. I had no idea and it was kinda scary for me, but the docs were very supportive and kind when we went to the appts and referrals to specialists. Wish you the best mama (and baby)

There's no validity to her being rude to me, because I was not rude to OP and I never once suggested she not have c-section, and if in the OP it would have been explained that the csection was medically necessary and that she'd already had a csection, my reply would have been slightly different. (though no matter my reply would still ALWAYS encourage her to be fully informed, there is NOTHING wrong with encouraging that!) ![]() Quote:

OP, just keep an eye out for any signs of labor, I'm sure all will be fine! I'm as pro-homebirth/vaginal birth as it gets, and even I would schedule a section for a footling breech. I think people forget that there is a huge difference between frank and complete breech versus footling breech. Anyhow, don't stress about it. Happy mama=happy baby. I'm sure your doctor is keeping a really close eye on you

Re: Anyone ever had a footling breech?
My husband's aunt gave birth to footling breech twins. This was back in the late 70's or early 80's (not sure how old they are but they are a little older than DH.) She didn't know until she was in labor OR that it was TWINS! Both boys were born feet first and she says it was a pretty easy labor and recovery. So it CAN be done. I am not sure if I would attempt it, but I would want to research all of my options before making a decision.
