why not get out of the tub when you're ready, and cuddle up with baby in bed or on sofa? even if baby has latched already in the tub, you can still do the breastcrawl (ever heard of laid-back breastfeeding?). if given the time and patience, a baby will bop around for the breast on more than one occasion--e.g. if you don't catch it in a certain arbitrary, man-made window immediately postpartum, you haven't messed anything up. this behavior is a hard-wired instinct and it is important for neurological development.
