Feeding yourself while breastfeeding

I got some Müsli on my daughter this morning, I dripped some water on her last night, goodness knows how many times I've gotten 'stuff' on her.

I stained one of my oldest's little white outfits with red enchilada sauce. I don't use a nursing cover ever - don't own one. But I do sometimes cover the baby with a napkin or something ever since that enchilada sauce incident. And I am really careful with hot (temperature) foods and drinks. I would hate to burn my baby! Crumbs are just a fact of life, though!

I often wondered what the little brownish smears on DD's pajamas were... they only appear sometimes, and only at night, and I was concerned because they kinda looked like dried blood.
Then I realized it's little chocolate crumbs from the "yes mommy will nurse and rock you for the 6th time tonight" stash that I keep next to the rocker :-)
And I have been known to drop something (few grains of rice, piece of salad, etc) on DD, pick it up, and pop it in my mouth. BF takes calories!

Our carrier is made by Olives & Applesauce. Now I think I know why they call it that!

Ok so am i the only one that their appetite goes completly away while feeding their baby/babies? I will be starving then i latch a baby on and i have no desire to eat or drink anthing at all.its weird andhas been like this with all kids....but as soon as they are done nursing my appetite is back???

HA-HA-HA!This thread made me laugh!I'm not eating while nursing,but I do eat with DD in the wrap.Got tired of getting food crumbs from her neck folds,so I am putting a kitchen apron over us,I have one of those like professional ones kind of oversized with very long ties.It works for us!

When at home I use a cloth napkin or a dishrag to drape over myself and the nursing baby. I tuck it into the neck of my shirt, just like you'd do to a small child. When at a restaurant I do the same thing with the paper napkins, only I use several in order to cover the nursling completely. I also had to do this the last 2 months of my pregnancy to not drip food on my belly. There is no shame in my game.
