Re: wool stains

Knit or interlock? Valuable or not so valuable? Bright colors or light colors?

I have done a lot of different things, but I would make my decision based on the questions above.
Interlock, not so valuable- put in the washing machine on warm delicate cycle with detergent and oxiclean, then relanolize (I don't put knits in the washer)
Light colors- wet and sun for biological stains (don't put vivid colors in the sun or they will fade)
Delicate, valuable, bright colors- wash with a wool wash bar and soak with a little oxiclean

Re: wool stains

You need to wash the lanolin out of the wool. Usually that is what holds on to the stain. Wash with a smidge of Dawn or other mild detergent. If stain persists try sunning. After the stain is gone you will have to lanolize again.
