to wean or not to wean?
I can't decide. I am starting to get burnt out. How do you know when you are done? And for the mama's who extended BF how do you do it? M is 14 months and I am starting to feel like a piece of meat.
I'm on my phone and the touchscreen hates me so my posts are short, to the point and probably misspelled.

I would say you should only nurse as long as its enjoyable for both if you, and you already made it to 1 year....but I haven't weaned yet so IDLE. ;P

Re: to wean or not to wean?
What exactly do you mean by "a piece of meat"? Does your DD pinch or twiddle or do gymnastics? If that's the problem, then you can work on teaching nursing manners as a way to make nursing more pleasant for you. Here's a link about nursing manners: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/older-baby/nursing-manners.html
You can also set limits of when and where you nurse your toddler to make things easier for you. I only nurse my now-3-year-old 3 times a day: first thing in the morning (after 7:15--that's a rule at our house!), before her nap, and before bed. It feels very manageable to me this way. But really, if you feel ready to wean and nothing seems to make the experience positive for you anymore, then there's no reason why you shouldn't wean.

Its not all negative. For the most part I enjoy it, the thing I dislike is when I come home she pulls at my shirt trying to get the goods. Most of the time I still love nursing her. Last week DH had a 3 day weekend so Friday we tried no nursing and as long as I was gone she was fine with it but the minute I got back it was all she wanted. So I felt bad taking it away so I gave it back. Thanks for the link PP.

Re: to wean or not to wean?
If that is your only problem, try to teach her that she she grabs at your shirt she doesn't get to nurse. Tell her to give you a hug and ask (if she's talking) or sign for nursing. Don't give up yet.

Would she take a cup of milk at that time instead?
