Eating honey
I know I shouldn't give a baby honey but someone the other day freaked out b/c I put some honey in my tea. They told me it gets into the milk & does the same thing as feeding it to baby.
Anyone know? |

Re: Eating honey
This is straight from Kellymom.com (an awesome breastfeeding site):
"Can a nursing mother eat honey? Honey is not a problem for mom to eat. The gut flora of adults and children over a year old are able to fend off the botulism spores that may be present in honey, and render them harmless. Since the spores would be killed in your gastrointestinal tract, they would not make it into your bloodstream and therefore cannot be present in your milk." So the short answer is, enjoy the honey in your tea mama!

It's fine for you to eat it.
