Constipation

Hi...
I have twins and formula feed...never got a milk supply...son is good uses a Gerber formula....daughter is at least lactose sensitive...have been using Earths Best Soy...and that works great...except she is really constipated all the time...she is 7mo so she gets a jar of prunes at least 5x week...

I do not want to give her sugar water to fix...which it will since she is not ready to metabolize it...it gives 'diarrhea' or unconstipates....any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Kelly

Re: Constipation

look up the colic tummy rub on youtube - there is a video - we started doing that a few times a day, and it has really helped us.

good luck!

Re: Constipation

Can you bump up the prunes or maybe some watered down prune juice?

Re: Constipation

We had this problem with my son. The ped recommended miralax. It worked really well for us.

Re: Constipation

DD gets a splash of juice in each of her bottles. She's a little younger, but it's helped her quite a lot. The doctor suggested gerber pear juice. (Or any other pasteurized baby pear juice.)

Our ped suggested this, too - preferably organic pear or apple.

We found feeding him pears instead of prunes and avoiding bananas helped the most.

Someone mentioned hazelwood necklaces for constipation. Might be worth further research.
