Is It Normal To Feel Terrible While BFing

I'm really proud of myself that Taci has never had a bottle of anything.
Lately I feel just rotten,I've got no energy,I just feel sick. My sweet DH says she's literally sucking the life from me. Could that be true? Or am I really just sick

I never felt like that are you still taking prenatls? are you eating well? getting enough sleep? thats the only reason i cant think you would feel that way or preggo...

Your iron could be low....... yes, if your intake is not enough BF can SUCK THE LIFE out of you. Baby starts using your reserves if you are not putting enough into your body. I take a prenatal, Extra B, Calcium, Acidophilus, Flax and a few others to keep my energy level up (HMMMM then why am I exhausted often----oh yay, I have 7 other kids)

I'd get my iron levels checked if I were you.

No, it is not normal. Definitely want to take your prenatals while your nursing. Iron and b vitamins are will definitely affect your energy and mood.

You ladies are great. I was told by my MW(who sucked)that I was OK to stop the prenatals once Taci was born. Even though she knew I was nursing her.

So back to prenatals then on to the doc monday morning

It can also be ppd. It can show up months after the baby is born, not only right after.

I felt this way also. Went almost 9.5 months thinking it was normal. Hopefully by monday i will know the results of the iron,thyroid, etc.
My dr asked me questions like:
Is dd still nursing at night(at 9 months it was a yes-2-3 times)
Did i have any condition while pregnant with dd(diabetic,etc.)
Was i exercising
Was my cycle normal(what cycle )
Am i taking vitamins
YOur child is most likely to young for this but she recommended letting dd sleep in the family bed. I wouldn't do it unless the child is 6 months in my epinion.
Are you getting enough water?? The time before last when i went to the dr. i felt sick and couldn't eat and all and ended up only being dehydrated.

Everything that the pp's mentioned, AND have them check your thyroid. I was still not feeling right after months of bfing, and mine was whacked out (too low.) Hope you get it all figured out!

I was just gonna post about having your thyroid checked - they often get out of whack after pregnancy. Check that and iron.
