Constant yeast rash
Ebf my 8 month old. She doesn't eat any foods just me. But she keeps getting this rash. It comes and goes but when it does come its huge! All over her tush, down her legs! Is it something I'm eating?? Should I wean her!??

Re: Constant yeast rash
Have you treated it several times? What type of diapers are you using? Does she need breathable material?

I've treated it three times now. She's been in cloth diapers since she was a month old. I've bleached them after these rashes and put her in disposables cuz I don't want the medicated cream messing up the diapers. We use pocket diapers of different brands. She's never had a problem with them.

Re: Constant yeast rash
My DS has this problem, too, only his is behind his ears. It's weird--I've never had a yeast issue in my life, and he's never had any antibiotics. We just keep treating it with nystatin, and I give him some baby probiotics.
I don't think it's a reason to wean. Maybe check out the Diaper Chatter forum for ideas on getting yeast out of diapers?

Re: Constant yeast rash
You can treat with otc miconazole (Monistat). Consider probiotics for your baby to knock the yeast out of their system permanently. Weaning won't get rid of the rash, since it is yeast living in your baby's body and not something you are giving them.

The good stuff in yogurt. It's good for digestion. It just help to stabilize all the stuff in you gut and intestines. Good to help keep you healthy. If I was better I would give/take one every day.

Re: Constant yeast rash
Acidophilus and other ophilus'. Be sure the one you buy is refrigerated for maximum effectiveness. Dosages on bottles vary from 1 million to 20+ billion cultures per pill. I have taken 80 billion myself at a time but worked my way up to that amount. I take about 2 billion daily since I am pregnant and trying to avoid yeast issues. Look for baby brands to find the right dosage for your LO. Taking too much results in diarrhea, so watch for signs that you are taking too much, and work your way up to high dosages, don't just start with insane amounts.

Re: Constant yeast rash
Coconut oil is good for diaper rashes and it's safe for cloth diapers. But it does sound like the rash could be caused by something in your milk or GI tract.
