I am 8 weeks pregnant, and nursing my 8 mo. old DD. I have horrible morning sickness, morning, noon, & night. I have been prescribed Zofran for the nausea and vomiting, which is safe for pregnancy, but not sure how safe it is for nursing. Anyone out there have any experience or advice?THANKS!!!!!! |

• It is also not known whether Zofran passes into breast milk. Do not take Zofran without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
This is from:http://www.drugs.com/zofran.html I'd like to think that your doc wouldn't give you something that would be bad for the breast-fed baby, but....? Here's more... Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding The effects of Zofran during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Zofran may appear in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. If Zofran is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding until your treatment with Zofran is finished. http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/r.../zof1501.shtml
