What does the hospital provide (SK)
Hello everyone! I'm trying to pack my hospital bag - but I have no clue what baby stuff to bring! What does the hospital provide?
I'm planning a home birth, so if I end up at the hospital it will be because something went terribly wrong and I probably won't be up to cloth diapers and full time breast feeding at first, so should I pack disposables, bottles, formula, soothers? Thanks!!

Re: What does the hospital provide (SK)
im not in SK so it may be different but our hospital provided NOTHING
ok thats a bit of a lie they will give you 1 sposie for immediately after your child is born and they have swaddling blankets that you can use while you are there I know you are planning a homebirth but you could call your hospital and ask them if they have a list of things you should bring, i was given one when i did our hospital tour

That is a good idea! I had hoped to go on the hospital tour, but scheduling didn't work out.

You could also ask your midwife. I'm in bc but our hospital supplies everything, they even offered to send an extra bag of diapers home with me. I always take an extra bag of pads and because I have c-sections, their lovely mesh panties
no pressure on the incision and reduces the chance of ruining my own panties with the first few days of post partum bleeding.

Re: What does the hospital provide (SK)
Lucky! All that was provided when I went in was: 2 diapers, 4 postpartum pads, and 1 pair mesh panties. That's it.

Where in SK are you? I just had my baby in Moose Jaw and everything was supplied for me and baby. I know Regina gives you what you need while you're in And I would think Saskatoon does too.

Re: What does the hospital provide (SK)
Hi, I'm in Saskatoon and have had both my daughters at RUH here. They provide everything you need for the baby, and they provide pads and underwear for you. Obviously any personal toiletries you want have to be brought by you, and if you want the baby to be dressed in their own clothes instead of the hospital provided blankets, then bring your own. But if it's an emergency situation and you forget everything, no need to worry!
