Canning "slicing" tomatoes
My garden produced nothing this year. So, now I'm buying up produce to preserve for the rest of the year. Azure has organic slicing tomatoes at a decent price, but I don't know if they will work well to can. I usually grow roma. I only want to can diced tomatoes, not sauce or paste. So, will slicing tomatoes work? TY

Re: Canning "slicing" tomatoes
The best tomatoes for canning are ones that are meaty with few seeds. That said you could use any tomato but you may have more seeds and juice. I do not can tomatoes I freeze them. Good luck!
