Re: How would you handle this?
I would talk to them. I would also try to find someone else to watch your son.

Re: How would you handle this?
Thank you all for your repsonses! We are going to try to find someone else to watch him, but it might take some time. In the meanwhile I am just going to text her how upset he was when he came home over being told "barbies are for girls" and kindly ask them not to be negative about his clothes, toy choices, actions etc. and let them know how much words effect him right now..he takes everything to heart. On a good note, when I got home from work this morning and was snuggling with DS he whispered that he wanted a Barbie
we didn't go to the toy store yesterday after the dr bc he fell asleep before we even pulled out of the drs office's road so I had told him we would go today! We are headed there in about an hr. I am going to be sure that it is in hand when I bring him over to his grandparents next haha I think his dad had a talk about playing with dolls with him this morning so maybe that helped to see his biggest male role model tell him he use to play with barbies! I still can't fathom who tells a 2 year old the things they do! Ahhh

Re: How would you handle this?
I am so glad he decided to still get his Barbie! I just wanted to offer
I feel so awful for mamas that have to trust family with their children when there is such a difference in beliefs and they refuse to respect you. Hang in there and I hope you find something new soon.

Re: How would you handle this?
I would have just told them outright, "That is not cool. Don't make fun of my kids' toys. I don't care if you don't like Barbies for boys, leave him out of it."
