Talk to me about Baby Hammocks!
Anybody use these instead of a bassinet/crib/whatever? I've heard they are amazing but I want more input. I'm talking about things like the Amby, kanoe or similar.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Hammocks!
I had a happy hangup, and I LOVE it, I haven't used it soley as we bedshare. My first was started to get a malformed head, and I moved her from bed to hammock and the next visit the ped couldn't believe that the problem was solved without a special helmet or anything. I also really liked that it would rock when they moved and help them stay asleep longer.

Someone has one on FSOT if you're looking to purchase. I can't remember who but I saw it a few days ago.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Hammocks!
Wish I knew about these when Dd was tiny. I slept in a hammock as an infant in Thailand. It was stretched over a crib. It must have been nice and cool to have flowing air all around.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Hammocks!
We didn't like ours. You had to put the baby JUST.SO. or they would roll to the side and get stuck. After a week or so, we just moved her into the bed with us and the bed became a bedside diaper holder.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Hammocks!
We used a hammock with my DS and he LOVED it! We had a Kanoe. I really liked that it hung by a spring, and very early on he learned how to make it bounce by himself. So easy to put himself to sleep, just lay him down and he would start bouncing himself and out he'd go! LOL!
We didn't have any problems with him rolling like the pp, but that could be because of the style of the hammock. There was no way to roll to a side in the Kanoe. We decided not to use it with my DD2 since the one problem we did have with using the Kanoe was that DS would only sleep in it - not in anything else. I really wanted to be able to put my DD2 down for a nap at my parents house, or if we needed to travel. Switching to sleeping on a hard flat surface was not an easy transition. But we did like the Kanoe!
