Twins born at 35 weeks and neither got a single tooth until 13 months! I was 9 months before I got my first, so later teethers just run in our family.

My son was a 42 Weeker but got his first tooth 2 days before his first birthday but then had 6 within 3 months.

Both of my children started teething very late, after 12 months. One was a preemie, one wasn't. So I think it must be genetic more than anything else.

Do preemies always teethe late? My DD is 4 1/2 months (2 1/2 mon adjusted) and has started acting like she's teething. Chewing on hands and anything else she can get coordinated enough to get in her mouth, drooling, fussy. My older two were early teethers but didn't know how prematurity affected this.

My preemie is 14 months old just now has 2 teeth coming in but my mom looked in my baby book I was a late teether also & I was 2 weeks late. So it just must be something hat happens.

Mine will be one in a week, adjusted they'll be one in 8 weeks. I have triplets. Right now one has two bottom teeth, one has one bottom tooth and one has no teeth. I think it depends on lots of things and our doctor said if they don't have a tooth by 16 months that's when they'd look into why not. Don't worry!

My 34wker is almost 15 months and still only has two teeth.

My 31 weeker will be 1 year actual next week and he has 8 teeth. I did not expect him to get teeth so early.
