I found a domain name generator through a post on etsy and it was suggested to use it to help brainstorm a shop name. I am currently trying to think of a name for my shop and here are some of the suggestions it gave me using some keywords I provided, haha!!! Some are so bizarre!

cloth wiping mama
material mama
mama cloth material sexy
planet of the cloth
earth cloth
natural mama hair
earth mama

Anyway, after all of that oddness I am thinking I might go with EcoCloth? I wiill be making mostly wetbags and mama cloth but also might branch out. What do you think?

There are other people already using the name "Eco Cloth" for similar ideas:

And I found your etsy shop.

You may be able to get away with it with "Alternatives" as part of your shop name, but if that first business found you they may decide to enforce their trademark, even if it's not registered (which they can legally do.) I had to enforce "Wee Essentials" for two cloth diapering/mama cloth businesses that started up a couple of years ago. I hated to do it, but one of them was running diaper giveaways on blogs, and some of my customers I know by name commented, thinking *I* was running a giveaway and saying how much they liked my nursing pads (which the other business had not sold any of!)

Thankfully, both businesses understood and changed their names, and I caught it pretty early so they didn't have to do a lot of remarketing. But you definitely want to check - basically, the big things to watch for:
1. is the name the same/essentially the same?
2. are the products similar?
3. are the markets similar (ie, selling on the internet, vs selling locally only.)

If you can answer "yes" to all those, and you are not the first using the name, you are probably infringing on their trademark.
