The damage was pretty bad--fortunately my parents community did not get anything. But Fema was in the same hotel as MIL. My nephews girlfriend came to Thanksgiving with us bc her family owns a dock and it got destroyed so they were working on that all day since that is there business. The closer you got to the water there were dumbsters just filled with more than you can imagine, everyday household things--mattresses couches EVERYTHING. Some barrier Islands are completely shutdown and they are just going to bulldoze them and start over like Seaside where The Jersey Shore took place.
