I sew and sell cloth diapers and know that when you have a cotton (or any other material with wincing properties) on the outside of the diaper, moisture will slowly soak from the inside onto the outside. Just be sure to change frequently...like every 3 hours. And if you are and if still wicks, add an extra booster to give you more time. Good luck!

Re: wicking help
Was the pul sealed in a hot dryer when you prepped them? Sometimes all those little holes from the needle just like to spring leaks.
I'm on a sealing kick today... |

Re: wicking help
Yes, this for sure you should try. Also, I think I read somewhere once that plush type fabrics have the most fabric sizing on them when you purchase them, so that will probably need to be stripped off with more hot water washes than just a plain cotton.
