Carseat Sidekick - Safe?
Just found this while poking around online - what do you think? Safe or not?
http://www.shortstackjack.com/ It goes below the chest clip but the harnesses in the video are barely snugged down.

I think they look ridiculous. There look like a much better option.

Re: Carseat Sidekick - Safe?
I wouldn't use them. For a newborn they may push the chest clip up into the chin or make it hard to properly tighten the harness. They are probably harmless for older babies who are tall enough that the chest clip is further from the buckle, but that video makes it clear that they don't know how to properly use a car seat and I'm therefore very suspicious of the product.
I think the Lula clips are a much better idea if you are really having a hard time with straps. |

I wouldn't use them. It just isn't that hard to push the straps out of the way. Not worth it, IMO.

The site is a little deceptive b/c it says they are safety tested but the testing was material product testing only.

We use the lula clips and they work great! Fishing buckles from underneath kids is a pet peeve of DH so he scooped up 2 sets of these for our car seats and was so pleased with himself

Re: Carseat Sidekick - Safe?
I would not use that product and I would advise a parent that came in to a seat check to not use them. Ultimately it's a parental decision but I think it's 1. an unnecessary product, 2. can interfere with the harness, and 3. a direct violation of manufacturer's instructions to attach crap to the handle of the seat and the harness. If you feel you need something to hold the harness open for baby, Lula clips are a much better choice.
