Dolls for a 2 year old . . .

Hi,

Any doll recommendations for a two year old? She has the corolle (sp?) soft doll, which she likes well enough. DH wants to get her a doll that you can change the clothes for. I did a quick amazon search, but need some help! Thanks!

My DDs destroy the hair on everything except American Girl dolls. They're 3.

The dolls at IKEA!

My DS has one, they are awesome. They come with clothes. They are soft. You can wash them in the washing machine. They are very durable.

I love the IKEA dolls.

DD is getting a bitty baby doll.

I've looked at the IKEA dolls and they look kind of creepy to me but they are an awesome price

What is creepy about it to you? Just curious.

My DS named his doll "George" and George has been around a long time and still is in fabulous condition, like the day we got him.

We bought our daughter a Baby Stella when she was about 2. You can change her clothes and diaper. Her paci adheres by a magnet. She is super soft!

It really depends on your child. DD has had American Girl dolls since she was 1.5, and she takes great care of them so I have no qualms. Her friend has a Bitty Baby that looks like it went up against a paint factory and came out the loser. Think about the quality and durability of the product, the temperament of the child, and your budget.

DD also has a Baby Stella - cute but not very realistic, shaped oddly so most off-brand clothes don't fit. Washable and soft.

You might look at Middleton Dolls Newborn Nursery if you want a really good, realistic baby doll. That's what we're getting DD as her big sister gift. They're weighted like an actual baby and come in many hair/eye/skin combinations. I see them on sale pretty regularly for 20-40% off.

I don't like their faces at all. Sorry, but they creep me out a little too.
