With ODD, we had 12 and it wasn't enough. We saved them and with YDD, we haven't used even one.

We have about 12 but we use flannel receiving blankets instead of burp cloths. A few times I wished I had a couple more

We had a cabinet full with dd and it was never enough, she had reflux pretty bad. With ds we only had 6-7 and that was always plenty.

My first 2 were huge spitters, I used about 3 dozen with them. I could have gotten by with 5 with my 3 rd

Well, I think I will start with 12 then. If the babe is a spitter, I will have my DD sew me some more (after all....I know where she lives

fyi....She is taking some old prefolds (that I used as burp cloths for my last child) and serging cute flannel accross the full front of it then stitching (with a sewing machine) lines up the part of the prefold where the tri-fold action happens.

They are VERY cute, but seemingly still as awesome as simply using a prefold (which is what I have done with my 3 previous kids - even before we cd'd). Prefolds were always my fave burp cloth, but the ones I had been using were getting pretty lame looking. Now they're cutey patooty.
