Re: Fifths disease
Around here, they don't even exclude in schools for fifths disease. Most kids have had it well before this age, so I wouldn't exclude her from any activities unless she feels crummy otherwise.
The rash on the arms and legs can last longer than the face rash, but it probably not contagious. Most of us had this rash years ago, and because it's so mild, we never even knew we had it.

Adults can get it, but it induces arthritis rather than a rash. It attacks the joints and can be bothersome for a lot longer than in kids. I had it as a kid (face & body rash) and got it again as an adult when my kids got it. I thought I had the flu and told the Ped my symptoms and he confirmed it was Fifths. And they definitely exclude from school for Fifths here. You never know if a teacher, assistant, mom or relative at home is pregnant. Once they're symptom free for 24hrs we can send them back.
