Re: What toddler-speak have you picked up?

My husband told me the other day that he had to go potty.

That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

God bless!

Re: What toddler-speak have you picked up?

I love this thread

Nuk/nuky = soother
Piggy Wiggy = DD's pig lovey
Decker = DS's name is Dexter but to DD (and us, now!) He is Decker.
I Laloo = I love you. This is my fav <3 We say it to everyone in this house.
Nugiss = music
Omie Omie = oatmeal. This is another staple name in our house!
Ninny = Finlay, our dog. She now responds equally well to both names, hehe.

Bay-bay = her lovey blankie
Ba-by = baby (like baby doll)
The difference is SO minimal, and only DH, daycare, and I can tell the difference :-)

Sippy = any drink
Wa-wa = water
Vroom vroom = car OR going for a ride, depending

Re: What toddler-speak have you picked up?

Leddow (Yellow)
Chooch (vulva)
Whoop cream (whipped cream)
Cocodot tree (coconut tree)
Trampernine (trampoline)
Bibby (yup, bib)
Nappy blanket (awesome double-layer blanket the sitter made her for her naptime)
Huggies & kissies
Drinking fruit (pouch purees)
Babin' soup (bathing suit)
Weebs (leaves)
Gwubs (gloves)
Soup (Ramen noodles)

she also had an interesting way of saying "fluffernutter", but it would be pointless b/c the language filter would pick it up

The problem is that we think most of DD's mispronunciations are hilarious, so we repeat them & then they become a thing.

We say wee-oos too! I was actually trying to think of how to spell that.

Re: What toddler-speak have you picked up?

Everything's got double syllables for us now:

mak mak = milk
hi hi = phone
dog dog, duck duck, bus bus (etc etc).

My favourite one is from one of her toys. Someone got her some electronic book thing that sings "the three little kittens have lost their mittens", and it ends with "the kittens have found their midgets!". Like, it blatantly says midgets, clear as a bell. So that's what we call mittens and gloves now. "Josh! Have you seen my midgets?"
