Eeekkkkk peepee issue!!!

I woke up to change ds2 (8months) and I opened his diaper and his pensions swollen up horribly. He's circed and we've never had any issues. It's swollen behind the head of the penis and behind the circ site. (No flames about circing please)

Help!!!!!

Re: Eeekkkkk peepee issue!!!

Does the diaper smell strongly of ammonia? Have you changed diaper detergents recently? Is it a new diaper that is made of a different material than what his skin is used to?

I'd call the doctor and set up an appointment for tomorrow. If it's all better by tonight or there is no re-occurrence tomorrow morning, then you can always cancel the appointment. But if it's still swollen or it happens again, you've got an appointment made to have it looked at.

God bless!

Is it possible that he has a hair tourniquet?

It turns out he basically has a yeast infection. I ended up taking him to the er because it was pretty bad. So we are doing anti fungals. And if it doesn't get better follow up at Peds.

Glad you got it figured out. My boys used to get yeast infections all the time, but it was never on their penis'. Just butts and bits, if you know what I mean.

God bless!

The immature high schooler in me wants to point out that DH and I have been having the opposite problem with our pensions for the last 10 years... We need to find a new investment fund stat.

Your poor little boy!!

I am sorry your son has that! But at least you got it figured out! Make sure to get the yeast out of your diapers.

Re: Eeekkkkk peepee issue!!!

My son had that when we cloth diapered him (he's five now). His whole boy area was swollen- I remember showing my husband and you should have seen the look on his face- he looked like he was going to be sick. The doctor never said what it was but we used a bunch of different creams, including the foot fungus cream (lotramin maybe).

I still think my husband is traumatized to this day about seeing our son's penis swollen up like a balloon.
