Do you use a bottle warmer to warm up your frozen milk?

I have a NICU baby who isn't quite BFing yet and we have to warm frozen milk for every feeding. We've been putting it in a bucket of warm water, but it takes forever (when he's starving). Does anyone use a bottle warmer? Do you have a favorite? The ones on Amazon seem to have mixed reviews.

Does it have to go straight from frozen to being served? If not, I would pull the frozen milk and set it in the fridge the night before you want to use it. THEN put the bag in the warm water right before serving. It is much faster that way.

I used a Munchkin bottle warmer a few times, but honestly the warm water worked so much better. It is slow, but much faster than the warmer.

Really, warm water is faster than a bottle warmer? I only wanted a bottle warmer because I thought it might be faster. :-) Yes, it goes from frozen to fridge, then to be warmed, but I guess I just get impatient when the baby is hungry. Thanks!

IDK I, well actually DH since he is home with them, have never used a bottle warmer for any of the kids-- DH just uses warm water. Bottles go from fridge to warm water and then she eats.

With bottle warmer can be ok I had munchkin. Can easy to over due. Hot running water does wonders. If u express close enough to feeding just give to baby.. breast milk can b out in room for 4 to6 hrs. Fridge week. Fridge freezer 6mo. Deep freezer at -20 f can b a yr.

NICU babies should NEVER have their milk left out. While this is okay for older babies, if your baby is still under strict observation, PLEASE take proper safety precautions. If you aren't sure whether your baby is still requiring those types of safety precautions, please contact an IBCLC or your pediatrician.

i warm dd's bottles in hot water. it only takes about 2 minutes

I've read some things about putting milk straight into hot water isn't the best and should gradually warm water while running it over bag. We use a tommee tippee warmer that goes from cold refrigerated to warm in four minutes. I never thought it was that long to wait as I try to anticipate her feeds.

I've worked at multiple daycares that warmed bottles in small crockpots

I highly suggest the small crockpot. Just have it on all the time if you are using it frequently. Otherwise, warm water and patience.
