Diaper Makers some questions and an idea?

I know there are a ton of people that make diapers as WAHMs. I love to sew and have made a couple of fitteds. They are not perfect, because I've only made two, but I would love to perfect some diaper making and it would be really cool to sell them.

Those of you that do, how did you get into it? How did you get buyers to start?

I have a couple ideas that I'm sure have been done or are done by other WAHMs but they are things that I would find cool and want to try. Like making a fleece cover but that's like a normal diaper cover - I love Flip Organics at night, but would rather put them in something that breathes. Or a Fleece soaker with a pocket in it to put the insert in. Would those ideas work/sell? I have some extra fleece and was thinking about trying them.

im not a wahm but i think a fleece cover that is like a regular cover would be great, especially if it was specific to night.

I have seen both those ideas done, and I think they are both excellent ideas. I haven't seen them a lot, just one or two here and there, so I don't think there'd be a lot of competition.

It costs almost nothing to open up an Etsy shop and list a few items. I've found the most success when I list new items regularly -I'd start by listing several items and advertising them here, and anywhere else you can think of, and then adding to your inventory as you can. Good luck!

Fleece diaper covers do sell! Have a look at Emotibuns, Polar Babies, and Stacinator for inspiration.

i sell fleece covers that look like PUL covers. well, with the shape, elastic, snaps or aplix. i make them for my DS too. =]
