Re: Birthday party at naptime?
We've always done parties at 1 or 2. It's nap time, it's kind of annoying, but after trying other times it's what works best.
Most people are busy on weekend mornings (sports, religious ed, church, working a few hours) and if we have it later, people have a bad habit of lingering past bedtime (7pm here) or getting our kids so wound up close to bedtime that it makes getting them to sleep a nightmare. We either do an earlier nap, or skip the nap. We also don't invite a bunch of other kids (other than family) to parties at that age, so it really only affects us. |

We did DD's party at 2pm thinking that it would (theoretically) be st after she woke from her nap, which is when she is at her happiest. Of course, Murphey's Law prevailed and she only napped about 30 minutes, was extremely cranky, and attached to my hip for the whole party. LOL
