Tobacco is good for bruises. If you make a paste and apply it to a bruise, it will heal faster.

That's the only practical use I can think of.

Some older people in nursing homes smoke and will take them to give to those residents if they run out or their family doesn't come bring them things they need...

Yeah, this. I'm sure if you ask the nurses they will be able to tell you if someone would want them or if it is against the rules.

Geesh. All these nonsmokers here. Yes, I'm a nonsmoker too but have you ever known anyone addicted to cigarettes? Cigarettes are one of the most addictive substances and one of the most difficult habits to kick. And heck, the habit is major expensive. I'd donate them to a shelter or nursing home like pp's suggested. You'll make somebody's day . . . even if it means reinforcing a bad habit.

I'd find someone to give them to. There's no way I'd be throwing away $70 worth of anything I could easily give away, unless it was something illegal.
