1 family size can of tomato soup 1 16 oz. jar of picante salsa 1 bag of tortilla chips some chopped green onions and shredded cheddar cheese for garnish Mix the soup and salsa together in a pot over medium heat. Add a little water if it seems too thick, or you're wanting to stretch it farther (usually I'll pour enough water into the soup can and salsa jar to get everything out of them and pour it all into the pot. Not that much.). Put some tortilla chips in the bottom of each bowl, crushed a little so they'll fit on the spoon, when eaten. Ladle the soup over the chips and top with onions and cheese. This was a quick and easy favorite when growing up. I personally don't like green onions, so I always just put cheese on mine. Warning: the chips will be slightly soggy. I don't mind, but I know some people might. |
