Re: Share your Crock Pot Oatmeal
Did you put the oatmeal in a bowl or in the crock pot directly?

Re: Share your Crock Pot Oatmeal
I did directly into the crock. I was semi following the weelicious recipe. Which was 1 cup oatmeal to 4 cups liquid. There was a good bit that was plastered to the crock, but I hadn't sprayed it before hand. Other than that it was the perfect oatmeal consistency.

I hear you. We also go through one a year or so, but it is the electronic portion that goes, not the crock itself. Do what you can to save the crock!

Re: Share your Crock Pot Oatmeal
I just wanted to update, I did the same recipe directly on the stove this morning. It took about 15 minutes and it's so tasty! I still want to figure out how to do it in the crock pot so that I can set it up the night before. I am almost out of oats anyway, I am going to hit Aldi today and get some steel cut or old fashioned, I think I have quick cooking.

Re: Share your Crock Pot Oatmeal
I did a "hot chocolate" steel cut oats and while I thought it was good the kids didn't go for it. Turns out my kids don't like oat meal. Dh liked it though. It was just steel cut oats, coconut milk, brown sugar and coco powder. http://skinnyms.com/slow-cooker-hot-...l-cut-oatmeal/ Dh did add some nesquick to his cause he likes things really sweet but I thought it was good just the way it was. I want to try some of the other recipes but since the boys won't eat it I'm not really sure about making them. I may have to try halfing the recipe and making them on the stove.
